Liverpool City Council has an exciting vacancy in the Refugee and Migration team (known as Our Liverpool). This role will support the delivery of our refugee resettlement programmes in Liverpool.
These posts are fixed term for two years in order to fulfil the Council’s current obligations under the government’s resettlement schemes: United Kingdom Resettlement Scheme (UKRS); Afghan Relocation Assistance Programme (ARAP) and Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS).
This includes supporting the planning and preparation of refugee arrivals, engaging with key internal and external partners, and working with colleagues to coordinate the supporting for refugees once they have arrived- helping them settle and rebuild their lives.
You will be at the heart of our work to make Liverpool a welcoming city and Liverpool City Council a migrant-friendly organisation, where people seeking sanctuary and vulnerable migrants are able to thrive from the day they arrive.

Our roles operate on a hybrid approach to allow flexibility between home working and office working at the Cunard Building.
Responsibilities:
To support the Refugee Resettlement Team Leader in the coordination and delivery of Liverpool City Council’s resettlement programmes.
Support the Refugee Resettlement Team Leader in planning and preparing for refugee arrivals, engaging with key partners and agencies including health, education, and housing.
Oversee casework delivery alongside commissioned services, identifying patterns or systemic issues, exploring solutions, and escalating cases where required.
Liaise with key agencies
Supporting monitoring and data gathering requirements
Appropriately deal with sensitive and confidential information about individuals, including safeguarding and risk management, health and safety data, and family history.
Support in the delivery and development of key polices and procedures relevant to refugee resettlement and contribute to service improvement.
To deliver a trauma informed service.
Develop the City Council’s commitment to equal opportunities and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.

You need to be able to know how to provide advice and guidance empathically. Follow policies, procedures, record data and administer paperwork. You will need to have good interpersonal skills to engage with vulnerable people in need of resettlement support.
