Hybrid (office based 2 days per week)
The post holder will carry a varied caseload, including development agreements, commercial and residential property transactions, planning and highways issues, compulsory purchase matters, governance and ancillary issues involved in larger projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious professional to join a friendly, committed and highly regarded in-house legal team to help deliver transformational and exciting projects, as well as making a real contribution to the quality of life and sustainability of the borough.
We are looking for individuals who are accustomed to working at pace in a busy team.
Prior local government experience is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and drafting skills and the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice to a variety of audiences. An interest in and enthusiasm for local government is important, as is the desire to work as part of larger project team.
- Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales, Barrister, CILEX or equivalent
- At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in Property and Planning, to cover: Commercial and residential property work • Planning and highways issues • CPO work • Estate Regeneration • Governance
