Building Surveyor (Scotland)

We are on the lookout for a talented Building Surveyor to join our team, playing a pivotal role in supporting our property and large loss adjusting teams.
Your expertise will be crucial in providing advice and guidance on complex building issues arising from client losses.
Where: Homebased role, based in and around Edinburgh or Glasgow
When: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £45,000pa - £50,000pa DOE + company car
Day to Day tasks
Providing technical advice,
Writing reports
Capturing specifications and scopes
Preparing tender documentation
Managing procurement
Overseeing contract administration.
Referrals for work from our own adjuster teams as well as third-party adjusters/insurers
You will be responsible for losses over £50,000, overseeing the entire process from engagement to completion.
Working independently but as part of a home-based UK team, you will be responsible for your own portfolio of work.
The work will involve repairs caused by all the major perils but mainly, fire, flood, escape of water and impact and all types of domestic buildings and some commercial property.
Responsible for producing a quality service to internal and external loss adjusters and insurer clients following internal processes.
Being a building construction technical referral point for the CCA team, including confirming and validation repair costs.
Running own caseload of high value/complex property repairs, including conducting site visits and assessments to establish the extent and value of domestic and commercial damage and repairs.
Provide support to our adjusters – assistance with scope reviews, structural engineers report reviews/ queries, loss assessor scopes, tenders, joint site visits, project management. What we need from you:
Must hold BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent
RICS or CIOB desirable or working towards
Experienced Surveyor
Specialist experience in a related subject would be an advantage.
Extensive and demonstrable property claims insurance experience is an advantage.
A good level of construction industry experience/knowledge, including cost is required
