Regional Development Manager (Grounds Maintenance Sales Experience Required)

Role Summary:

As the Regional Development Manager, you'll be at the forefront of securing additional projects and infill grounds maintenance contracts to surpass regional sales objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass nurturing relationships with existing and potential clients, crafting competitive pricing and proposals for timely submission within the region, and overseeing a spectrum of services, including Landscape construction, Grounds Maintenance, Arboriculture, winter gritting, and minor building and civils work (e.g., fencing).

This dynamic role revolves around securing Extra Works projects ranging from 10k to 500k and GM infill contracts up to 200k per annum. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting and exceeding challenging deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Sales Achievement:

  • Attain annual EW and Infill sales targets for the region.
  • Retain current regional contracts.
  • Foster proactive client relationships to maintain a robust pipeline and win rate.
  • Assist in cultivating Preferred Supplier Relationships with Tier 1s to quote for new contracts.

Process:

  • Ensure the prompt delivery of compliant bids, quotes, proposals, and tenders.
  • Enhance the content and presentation of written proposals.
  • Utilise pricing tools for precise and competitive pricing.
  • Obtain relevant sign-off for proposals.
  • Maintain updated information in the CRM system.

Pipeline Management:

  • Sustain a forward pipeline of opportunities for the upcoming 12 months, collaborating closely with regional team members.
  • Actively oversee routes to market.
  • Provide regular updates on opportunity progress to the business.

Marketing:

  • Participate in marketing events and contribute to content creation, including case studies and award nominations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Operational experience in the Grounds Maintenance industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Proficiency in building enduring relationships with clients and operations.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to organically generate new business with new and existing customers.
  • Exceptional team player.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards and accuracy.
  • Confident and articulate in all forms of communication, including face-to-face, telephone, and written.
  • Proficient in MS Office software.
  • Valid Driving Licence for daily travel to customer sites.

Desirable:

  • Previous sales experience.
  • Business development and public sector bid experience.
  • QS qualifications.
