Regional Finance Manager
Home based with regular travel to branches Wolverhampton and Birmingham
Salary based on experience.
Henderson Brown is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Finance Manager to join our Fresh Produce client, responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of its branches .As a crucial member of the finance team, you will work closely with Branch Managers, Regional Directors, and the Head of Finance to optimise commercial opportunities and identify risks and opportunities within the region.
Responsibilities but not limited to
* Act as a proactive Finance Business Partner, providing support, challenge, and
insight to Branch Managers and Regional Directors.
* Deliver timely, accurate, and relevant financial information and analysis to key
stakeholders, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts, annual budgets,
variance analysis, KPIs, and ad-hoc analysis.
* Identify risks and opportunities to enable the achievement of targets.
* Develop, challenge, and question budget/forecast assumptions and KPIs.
* Provide Monthly Review Packs and participate in Monthly Branch Review Meetings.
* Conduct consignment reconciliation, analysis, and challenge.
* Manage margins through analysis and challenge.
* Develop and understand distribution cost reporting & KPIs.
* Benchmark performance across locations.
* Monitor new business performance and profitability.
* Review monthly accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Attend monthly stock takes.
* Maintain strong financial controls across all areas.
* Support the Head of Finance through analysis and project activity.
Compliance
* Work in accordance with the internal control framework to minimize risk and ensure
transparency.
* Ensure adherence to all company policies and statutory requirements.
* Liaise with internal and external auditors.
* Ensure tasks are evidenced and saved in accordance with the delegation of authority
matrix in a timely manner.
Experience
* Ensure segregation of duties within branches aligns with the control framework.
* Multi-site experience within the fresh produce industry.
* Management accounting in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
* Comfortable being the sole Finance person within the region.
* Flexible team player with the ability to drive improvements.
* Results-driven with a 'can-do' attitude.
* Enthusiastic with tenacity for continuous improvement.
* Adapt quickly in changing environments.
* Prioritise and effectively manage time, working under pressure to tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, building
relationships across all levels of the business.
* Experience influencing non-Finance colleagues.
* Demonstrable experience in process improvement and stakeholder management.
* Ability to use own initiative and adapt to changes in the industry.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Qualifications
* Qualified Accountant, ideally CIMA.
