SalarySanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to take on a new locum opportunity to work in the 111 Rapid Response Team in Otterbourne.
Location: Otterbourne, Hampshire.
Pay Rate: GBP30 per hour (assignment rate).
Contract Type: Locum, shift work with block booking available.
Main Duties:
- To improve access and provide support & services for service users, reducing unnecessary interventions.
- Work to reduce pressure on the Emergency Services by avoiding inappropriate interventions and providing appropriate advice for professionals.
Requirements of the Registered Mental Health Nurse:
- Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
- .
- Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
- Valid NMC Registration.
Additional Information:
- The Mental HealthRapid Response Vehicle is crewed by both a paramedic and Mental Health Nurse. The MH RRV is dispatched through SCAS by phoning 999 or 111.
- The Mental Health Nurse has access to patients Mental Health records and is able to research the patient s history before arriving on scene.
The Mental Health Nurse is able to provide a holistic triage for the patient using the Mental Health triage tool. This will enable the most appropriate support for the patient to be provided, including:
- Home Management (Listening, Validation, Reassurance)
- Self-help advice (Brief Interventions such as relaxation, CBT, DBT, Grounding strategies, sleep hygiene, Wellness Recovery Action Planning)
- Referral into Primary Care (Actioned through the paramedic systems)
- Referral into Voluntary Organisations (Bereavement) & Partnerships (No Limits)
- Signposting (Crisis services, Therapy services, Social Care & Needs)
- Referral into Secondary Mental Health Services (CMHT, OPMH, A2i, CAMHS etc)
