Are you an experienced Veterinary Nurse with a natural flare and enthusiasm for organisational excellence?
At Vets4Pets Telford Madeley we're on the lookout for a dynamic professional to fill a unique position that combines the roles of Veterinary Nurse and Practice Manager. If you thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment, possess exceptional clinical skills, and have a proven track record in practice management, we want to hear from you! This is a rare opportunity to blend your love for hands-on patient care with the strategic oversight of practice operations.
About the role:
The successful candidate will assist the practice partners with the day to day management and administration of the practice and to help to drive the business forward. Currently 2 practice partners - 1 vet and 1 Practice Manager.
The practice has 2 full time vets, 2 RVNs, 1 CCA with VCA roles working towards SVN training, 3 CCAs and 1 PM.
Working week - full time - 5 days per week plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 9.00- 12.00. Closed bank holidays and no OOH. RVN and PM duties would be split 50/50 with a set rota to allow full integration into the clinical team and time in the office to concentrate on the management of the practice.
Practice Management roles would include:
- Sorting the rota
- Booking and invoicing of locums
- Managing the team in line with the procedures and deal with any performance, conduct, or absence issues
- Logging of Petpoint hours - overtime, sickness etc
- Diary management
- Complex client queries and complaints
- Comply with Health and Safety Regulations and local policy within the surgery
- Awareness of financial decisions and cost control
Ideally, you will be a confident RVN who strives to deliver high standards, be a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to learn and support the other members of the team.
Duties include nursing consultations including RVN clinics, triaging patients, theatre work, radiography, inpatient care, dispensing prescriptions for the vets and lab work. Whilst we have been open we have had a few student nurses so a willingness to support future nurses is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate must be a qualified RVN and the role would be a combination of Practice Management and RVN duties. It is imperative the candidate still wishes to have a hands on role as a RVN.
