About the role:
The Registration Service Manager role is a busy varied role which requires great people skills, communication, and workload management skills. Working in the Cemeteries and Registration division, you will manage Richmond Registration Service and six cemeteries across Richmond upon Thames. You will lead a multidivisional team responsible for organising a busy schedule of burials, ceremonies, births, deaths, and the administrative functions of the service.
You will be a confident leader responsible to the Head of Service for the day-to-day operation of the Cemeteries and Registration Services in Richmond upon Thames. Providing strategic direction and leadership of the council’s cemeteries and Registration Services to ensure sustainability and maximising growth opportunities.
Experience: Do you have proven management experience within the cemeteries and registration division, do you have the capability to motivate and develop a team, and adept at managing change? Can you evaluate and identify areas for improvement and use your full talents to develop the service through problem-solving, creativity and innovation?
Knowledge: You will need to have an Extensive knowledge of Burial Law, Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium management (ICCM )Code of Safe Working Practice, Health & Safety Legislation and the ability to apply these in decision making . Knowledge of all relevant statutory acts relating to registration and burial law.
Communication Skills: The ability to deliver verbal and written communication skills of a high standard. The ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Workload Management: Can you plan, prioritise and manage the work of the cemeteries team to ensure completion of administrative tasks, undertaken in strict accordance with statutory guidance, legislation and service standards.
Site management: You will be expected to work across 6 cemetery sites and both Richmond and Wandsworth register offices as and when required
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent service-related experience
- Professionally accredited qualification in Cemeteries Management, or substantive evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
Current Full UK Driving Licence
