Job description

The University of South Wales has an exciting opportunity for Registry Clerk to join Academic Registry and support the administrative activity in a dynamic and busy department. This opportunity provides an excellent entry route into university administration. Academic Registry is one of the University’s professional service departments, delivering a range of key administration and information services for students throughout their studies, from enrolment to graduation. We also oversee the University's arrangements for academic quality assurance and enhancement along with providing casework services for students. The role will be based within the Quality and Academic Services (QAS) - Assessment Team of Academic Registry.

Assessment Team: You will work across all areas of the team to support the delivery of team operations which include:

  • Examinations
  • Assessment administration processes and services (including issuing results)
  • Graduation ceremonies
  • Certificate and transcript production and distribution
  • Past student services

along with the associated systems, related web support, and information. The role involves working with colleagues to ensure successful delivery of services to students, faculties, and partners.

About you: To be successful in this role, you will need to be a team player who will work with colleagues to ensure first class delivery of services to students, faculties, and partners. We require an individual who is proactive, self-motivated with a positive approach, with a willingness to learn.

Our people: Our people are our most important resource. Our aim is to enable staff to develop careers within Academic Registry and across the wider HE sector, offering developmental and career enhancing opportunities. We embrace the University’s Core Values and the Association of Higher Education Professionals (AHEP) Professional Framework.

Location of work: The University is currently operating a hybrid-model of working. The role will be based primarily at the University of South Wales’ Pontypridd campus, although you will need to travel and work at any of the three USW campuses as well as homeworking. The successful candidate would be expected to work on campus for a proportion of each week. A flexible approach to working hours may be necessary to support the delivery of our services, with some work occasionally taking place outside normal office hours. This is a fixed term role.
