The Home Care Regulatory Affairs team sits within Home Care Research and Development function. We pride ourselves on not being defined by our job titles but by the positive impact that we make. We are continually working with colleagues across other functions such as Safety, Legal, External Affairs, R&D to drive Regulatory change:
JOB PURPOSE
- You will set the Home Care UK & Ireland (UK/I) Regulatory strategy for delivering UK/I innovation on brands such as Cif, Domestos and Persil and the creation and execution of the UK/I technical advocacy needs for Home Care products that will positively impact the health and hygiene of people and the planet.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the first point of regulatory contact for the UK/I business teams.
- Provide expertise on regulatory developments which could affect the UK/I Home Care products and ensures that these developments are incorporated into the European R&D innovation plans
- Develops and co-creates claims together with delivery of regulatory guidance to the marketing teams
- Anticipate regulatory challenges and opportunities for the future in order to drive and define the external technical advocacy agenda.
- Represents Unilever in relevant external trade associations, coalitions and directly with Regulatory Authorities, as required.
- Works seamlessly with EU RA Home Care colleagues to understand business impact for all changes linked to European Green Deal, to ensure regulatory preparedness for the UK/I business.
- Key member of the HC RA team and will drive the global RA strategy.

All about you:
We are looking for the right candidate who will have a growth mindset and embrace a challenge with the ability to see things through to the end.
You must have extensive experience within an FMCG environment with expertise in EU and GB relevant Home Care legislation such as Detergent Regulation, CLP and REACh.
- Minimum BSc in Regulatory Toxicology, Biological Science, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or equivalent.
- Extensive experience working within an FMCG environment for Consumer and Professional products.
- Proven track record in active collaboration with R&D and non-R&D functions as well as 3rd parties in support of innovation programmes.
- Experience of working in an external environment such as Trade Associations or Regulatory Authorities.
- Ability to assess regulatory risks and opportunities and the impact it has on the existing and innovation portfolios
- Great collaborator with excellent communication skills.
- Pro-active self-direction with a high level of initiative and persistence and a very much hands-on approach to results delivery
- Ability to work in an international team.
- Must be fluent in English.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
