If you’re looking for a career that will unlock new opportunities, join HSBC and experience the possibilities. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

Our Risk and Compliance function has a critical role to play in advising, supporting and challenging the growing Insurance business in the design, review and servicing of new and existing Insurance products. You’ll join a small, skilled team working on varied projects with the unique opportunity to work and collaborate with senior stakeholders up to Executive level. We focus on creating an environment that encourages our people to speak up and do the right thing, as well as protecting our customers, the organisation and the integrity of the financial markets in which we operate. Already an industry-leader in many respects, we want to continue setting standards and evolving to respond to strategic changes.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC’s regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the insurance business manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance issues.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Regulatory Compliance Manager.

  • Be responsible for Regulatory Compliance support on growth projects and implementing regulatory change; for example Consumer Duty
  • Support the Head of Compliance to contribute to regular Compliance and Management Information reports, including Board reporting and the Annual Compliance Plan.

Continually reassess the regulatory risk inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions and regulatory requirements, adherence to internal guidelines, processes and procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Have experience working in Regulatory compliance; preferably including a well-developed understanding of the FCA regulations applicable to an Insurance Business
  • Experience working with Insurance business models, products and services and the associated regulatory risks and challenges, or on comparable financial services products
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to a wider, sometimes non-technical audience.
  • Strong knowledge of the current regulatory environment applicable to an Insurance Business
  • Show strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders of all levels and have a history of driving results.
  • Strong Team Player with ability/experience of working in fast paced environment.
  • Ideally hold a relevant Compliance qualification/certification such as an International Compliance Association diploma. However, those who do not have these qualifications are still encouraged to apply as you may be supported in obtaining them

The base location for this role is Bristol / Fareham / Birmingham and is Hybrid working.

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
