Job description

An exciting opportunity has arose for a band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant to join Copeland ICC. The successful candidate will be based in Copeland Community Rehabilitation team but will also be expected to cover across the Copeland ICC when needed.
We are looking for a motivated and caring individual, preferably with some community experience, but more importantly someone who is enthusiastic about rehabilitation with older people, providing support to people who have long terms needs and who enjoys working in a team.
The Community Rehabilitation Team is a friendly multidisciplinary team, with staff who work together to facilitate early discharge from hospital or prevent unnecessary admission.

A Rehabilitation Assistant in a multi-disciplinary team is expected to work with other health and social care professionals to develop the ethos of multi-disciplinary, integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard.
As a Rehabilitation Assistant reporting to a registered health professional, the post holder will implement rehabilitation plans for patients in the community and other settings, observe the patient’s condition, providing direct care with a rehabilitation and therapy focus. This may include supporting patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
Flexible working will be required to meet the needs of the patient group.
The ability to work over 7 days is a requirement of the post. The hours of work will be on a rota covering a shift pattern between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as followsif applicable to the post:
Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
