We are seeking to recruit a Male Support Worker for our client, who is a Sudanese gentleman who suffers the effects of an acquired brain injury. The client is physically unimpaired but suffers from cognitive and communication problems.
The Rehabilitation Assistant role involves:
· Implementing rehabilitation and therapy exercises and guidelines.
· Providing the client with support enabling him to access a range of social, recreational, and sporting activities.
· Assisting the client and the rehabilitation team with practical day-to-day tasks and requirements.
· Assisting the client attend appointments.
· Supporting the client with interpreting tasks (including those associated with documents).
· Assist the client assume and exercise increasing responsibility for the planning and execution of household tasks, activities of daily living and vocational and recreational activities.
· Providing the client and his family with emotional and psychological support, information, and advice under the direction of the rehabilitation team.
· Conducting regular informal reviews with the client and his family and providing feedback to the case management team as required.
· Deciding when the case management team needs to become involved.
· Attending formal meetings.
· Ensuring that all recording and paperwork (etc.) is completed daily and sent to ECMS each month for review.
· Assisting the case management team complete and record monthly care plan reviews and reporting any changes to the team for implementation.
· Ensure all policies and procedures and read, signed, and adhered to.
· Ensuring that training allocated to you is completed within the timeframes set.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
· Sensitivity and discretion necessary to working within a client’s own home.
· Ability to absorb complex information and training provided by the case manager and therapists and to demonstrate accurate implementation of instruction and guidelines.
· Effective team working skills.
· Fluent Arabic speaker (preferably Sudanese).
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
· Always behaving within the good practice guidelines and standards of consent outlined in ‘The Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England’.
· Maintaining accurate records.

The successful client will be employed on a 0 hour/ bank contract basis and will be required to be available to cover sickness and annual leave.
Job Type: Zero hours contract
Pay: £16.50-£18.50 per hour
