Reinsurance Data Analyst

Our client is the leading third party Managing Agency at Lloyd's, creating and managing underwriting business for over 20 years. Services include Underwriting Management, Compliance, Actuarial, HR, IT, Finance, Risk Management and Business Intelligence thereby meeting the needs of a broad spectrum of businesses. The Reinsurance Team is part of Underwriting Management and is tasked with the effective oversight of multiple Syndicates' outwards reinsurances.
Role Summary
The Senior Reinsurance Data & Counterpart Analyst is an excellent opportunity for a data-focused reinsurance practitioner to work in an oversight capacity within the Outwards Reinsurance Team, taking ownership of reinsurer counterparty management, Reinsurance Data, and management information. The Senior Reinsurance Data & Counterpart Analyst will need to quickly learn and take responsibility for reinsurer data and counterparty management, while also sharing responsibility for the oversight and management of Syndicate reinsurances.
Key Accountabilities

• Work with the Head of Reinsurance to review and monitor syndicates' reinsurance strategy and purchasing plans and oversee the management of the reinsurance asset.
• Work with the Head of Reinsurance to oversee contract and counterparty management and ensure this is effective.
• Work with the Senior Reinsurance Manager to enhance processes to improve data collection mechanisms, data quality, reporting and monitoring of reinsurance MI.
• Enhance reinsurance reports and analysis for key stakeholders (Exec, Syndicate Boards, RISC, governance committees).
• Work in conjunction with syndicates and the Risk Team to monitor and report against reinsurer quality and concentration risk appetites.

Experience & Knowledge

• Experience working in an outwards reinsurance discipline, ideally in the Lloyd's / London market.
• Experienced in analysing and manipulating Reinsurance Data to increase understanding, mitigate risk, and support oversight.
• Understand the impact of reinsurance to underwriting, profit and capital and the associated risks.
• Understand counterparty management and the associated risks.
