Reinsurance Pricing Actuary

The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Reinsurance Pricing Actuary to join our QBE Re team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative environment across several stakeholders, including claims, underwriting and finance. Supporting the pricing manager, you will be delivering case pricing, developing pricing tools and conducting actuarial studies to ensure appropriate business decisions are made. This is an international role giving you the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the world including Brussels, New York, Dubai, Dublin, and Bogota.

Your New Role:
• Awareness and understanding of the business drivers for the function
•Use and assist with the development of appropriate systems and procedures to ensure accurate data is used and subsequently appropriate analyses produced. This is to include adopting efficient and consistent actuarial models and process and / or technologies where appropriate
•Maintain and comply with documentation of key processes and policies and with legal and regulatory requirements
•Adhere to relevant actuarial standards and good practice
•Meet all internal European and / or global internal reporting requirements
•Assist the Actuarial Manager to ensure that processes are aligned with business needs and fit for purpose
•Pricing: Perform the development of pricing tools and rates and the review of premium/rating methods to ensure that methods adopted by the business are robust/valid
•Case Pricing: perform actuarial pricing/risk assessment of complex reinsurance treaties for all lines of business as required
•Support the underwriters by performing portfolio/market actuarial analyses and provide the results to the underwriting teams.
About You:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and manage stakeholder relationships
- Ability to persuade and influence both directly and indirectly
- Good technical knowledge in Excel and other analytical tools with the ability to develop sophisticated models to address business needs
- Strong numeracy and data analysis skills with the ability to identify, manipulate and analysis existing data
- An Actuarial qualification or working towards
