CCTV operations form a vital part of the council’s community safety role. In this role you will work closely with council colleagues and the police. Your observations and actions will make a direct impact on public safety and crime.
We are seeking Relief CCTV Operatives to work with the CCTV team, covering planned and unplanned leave, including holidays, sickness and training. Up to four Relief CCTV Operators cover up to 12 weeks per year between them (on a shift basis). The shift pattern runs from Friday to Monday, consisting of early and late shifts.
Applicants must have 4 GCSE’s including English at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications) and be conversant in the use of technical equipment. A qualification in CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance) is desirable, but training will be provided.
The ability to be flexible, maintain concentration for extended periods, demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and write detailed reports are other essential attributes for the post.
Successful applicants will be subject to Police Vetting and DBS checks. Posts are worked on a shift rota over four days currently from Friday to Monday, working an early and late shift. The days can change for service needs.
