Relief Receptionist
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£14.20 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
UHI Orkney is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above relief role, to provide cover during periods of sickness and holidays throughout the year.
The position of Receptionist has a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the main office. Duties are varied and will include dealing with enquiries whether through the main switchboard, face to face or by e-mail, in a timely and courteous manner, processing mail, undertaking photocopying, binding, filing and other office tasks as required. In addition, the role provides administration support to college staff, including the short course department, by assisting in the preparation of materials and course certificates and inputting student enrolment forms.
Candidates should have experience in dealing with members of the public in a customer focussed environment, as well as in using a range of Microsoft Office packages.
Applicants are required to hold a qualification at SCQF level 5/6, (e.g. SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grades, O Grades, Intermediate 2, etc.) in an Administration related subject or, where the essential qualification is not held, have a minimum of 2 years previous relevant experience.
You should also be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
This role is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
