Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Religious Worker in Non-Pastoral Role (Hindu Pujari) to join our Hindu Temple. You will play a vital role in providing services to the deities in the Temple. Accommodation will be provided.
Duties:
1. Performance of Ceremonies in accordance with Sanatan Vedic and Hindu calendar and traditions.
2. Shall conduct all the daily Abhishek of all consecrated deities.
3. Shall conduct all Pujas and Aarti Krams (perform 5 Aarti’s every day - Mangla Aarti, Shringar Aarti, Rajbhog Aarti, Sandhya Aarti & Shayan Aarti)
4. Shall Prepare & offer the Rajbhog to the deities daily.
5. Shall make fresh flowers garlands for all deities daily.
6. Shall ensure that the deities vastrabhushan are changed regularly as per rules laid down and at major festivals.
7. Shall Decorate all the deities and shrines according to the festivals - Ramnavmi, Krishna Janmashtami, Shivratri, Patsotsav, Navratri, Diwali, Hindu New Year, Tulsi Vivah, and other festivals & programs
8. Shall be present in the Mandir at all times during opening hours
9. Shall not accept invitations to any outside events without prior approval of the Committee, Attendance at Mandir programmes/celebrations is mandatory.
10. Maintain the sanctity, cleanliness, hygiene, religious and divine environment of the Temple at all times
11. Shall keep all the utensils required for the services clean, by washing them everyday
12. Shall ensure general members of public are not allowed on the Worship (Bhavan) area
13. Shall maintain all Puja items (samagri) stocks and notify the office in advance of all requirements.
14. Shall carry out additional inevitable tasks given by management committee.
15. Shall attend the Committee meeting when requested to discuss on religious events.
16. Inform and work with the Religious sub-committee in organising all religious events
17. Avoid use of Mobile phone or earphones for personal use during Mandir hours.
18. Application for annual leave shall be submitted to the Committee well in advance for approval.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Religious Worker in a Non-Pastoral Role within a religious organization
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Fluent in Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit & English Languages
- Qualification in Hindu Scriptures & Religion
- knowledge of all Karm Kand is essential
