SUMMMARY:

 

The Renewables Program Manager has responsibility to provide comprehensive support to our clients through the management of renewable electricity (RE) strategy and implementation projects across North America. In addition, this role will assist commercialization in our RE global business development efforts.

They have an expertise in leading and managing client projects coupled with a deep understanding of North American RE and energy markets and how to blend these to meet the client’s energy portfolio requirements.   

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Independently manage Renewable Electricity (RE) client engagements in both strategy and implementation phases to successfully deliver on RE roadmaps and procurement projects.  
  • Provide support to the project team and clients on highly complex RE strategy/roadmap and implementation engagement projects.  
  • Support commercialization in RE business development efforts to include high quality client facing materials such as presentations, reports, summary documents and proposals in cooperation with our regional and global sales teams.
  • Effectively manage client projects to ensure all technical, risk, scheduling and business objectives are successfully met.
  • Manage clear, structured and effective communications with both the clients and project teams.  
  • Develop and implement complex RE procurement and risk management strategies in support of client projects.
  • Support and manage client engagements through the interpretation and risk analysis as related to energy and RE requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a deep knowledge and understanding of North American RE regulatory markets, pricing and products.
  • Coordiante closely with the RE Analysis team to develop unique insights and options for clients.
  • Help to improve business process designs internally and across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment in recommending and procuring the appropriate mix and size of RE products.
  • Attend conferences, events and trade shows to increase RE market knowledge and build stakeholder relationships.
  • Coordiante work across multiple, matrixed functions while managing both internal and external stakeholder expectations.

    The pay range for this role is: $97,000.00-146,000.00

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability or a related field, Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Relevant industry certifications preferred (e.g. PE, CEM, CWEP, LEED, CEA).

Experience: 

 

 

  • 5+ years of related experience in energy advising/consulting, energy procurement or other energy market role.
  • 2+ years of client facing experience in a regulated commodities industry with exposure to large scale RE or energy procurement deals.
  • Industry or consulting experience with renewable energy products and an understanding of V/PPA development and delivery.
  • Familiarity with Tax Equity Investment and reporting requirements for GAAP and IFRS is desired.
  • Community Solar understanding is desired.
  • Track record as an enthusiastic self-starter who is experienced at developing trust and long lasting relationships.

  • Energy markets expertise with an understanding of RE procurement and the financial instruments available.
  • Program management expertise as demonstrated through leadership of complex client engagements, organizational skills and the successful delivery of energy products and services.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, partners and internal team members.
  • Ability to deeply engage clients, identify and deliver on project commitments and non-confrontationally challenge client assumptions and ideas.
  • Ability to work in a distributed delivery environment, is highly organized and has a strong leadership presence.
  • Superior written, presentation and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project financial targets through the management of risk, schedules and client interactions.
  • Ability to work across various functions, regions and at all levels of an organization to foster collaborative teams to meet challenges in driving client engagements.
  • Skilled in using MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and CRM tools (e.g. SalesForce)
  • Organized and structured with the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate programs and initiatives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Typical office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Must be able to travel 10-20%
  • Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required
  • Traveling off-site to a local events is required
  • May be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among fellow employee

REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time
  • Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents
  • Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper
