East Renfrewshire Council is constantly evolving as it modernises and improves its effectiveness and access to services. The Council is on an exciting transformational journey to embed its vision entitled its ‘Five Capabilities’. This role will be expected to contribute towards the delivery of this vision and be expected to seek opportunities to improve service outcomes and benefits across the service, department and the Council.
The post will manage the efficient and effective operational delivery of the Council’s Housing Service Repairs and Maintenance Service. This will include the effective day-to-day management of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, legislative compliance programmes and void repairs. The post is responsible for the management of the Services’ internal Trades workforce and to effectively resource plan to delivery on service outcomes. The post will lead on the management of external contractors for response repairs for three thousand council tenancies
We are therefore seeking an exceptional candidate with a strong understanding of the issues facing the services. You will have a strong customer focus and excellent partnership skills.
The successful post-holder will be joining a service which strives for excellence in service delivery and works well with partners to deliver the best possible service to tenants.
You will contribute as a member of the Housing Management Team towards the strategic management and direction of the Housing Service and to develop your knowledge and experience through your involvement in other corporate programmes of work.
Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
