This role will champion technology innovation in the screen and performance sectors. You will be working with world-leading creative companies – from Pinewood to BT to disguise to thousands of cutting-edge UK SMEs – accelerating the adoption of new technologies and processes across the sector. As Research & Development Fellow you will be required to identify opportunities for technology and process innovation, with a focus on real-time processes and content production or Networked Performance and collaboration, relevant to the screen and performance sectors. This will involve collaborative Research and Development with HEI, industry and sector partners that will deliver improved performance across production pipelines. You will work in a creative, inclusive and dynamic environment based in the School of Design & Informatics, and you will work with the national lab team of R&D Fellows and leadership team to identify and deliver on technology innovation opportunities. About the National R&D Lab: CoSTAR National Lab for R&D in Creative Technology is the largest ever investment in creative industries R&D in UK history: a £51.1m programme led by Royal Holloway, University of London to develop a National R&D Lab for creative technologies to ensure the UK’s screen and performance industries have the and innovation infrastructure to compete globally. This post is based in Dundee, Scotland but with the expectation of significant working time at the National Lab which is being built in the South East and some national travel expected. The role requires postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience in a relevant industry role.
