South Kensington Campus Full-time, Fixed term to start ASAP until 31st March 2025 (with the possibility of extension) Job Summary We are seeking to hire a Research Associate level to join the DSIT/EPSRC funded national Communications Hub for Empowering Distributed ClouD computing Applications and Research (CHEDDAR) Communications Hub. The aim of the Hub is to facilitate the connection of UK excellence to encourage brave new ideas in Communications and Networking research that will ensure the UK lead in 6G technologies. This is an exciting new opportunity to join a national federation of communications hubs that include Titan and HASC Hubs. Together we generate world-leading research, while growing via project and platform funding. Specifically, this is an opportunity to lead the Integrated Sensing and Communications strand of CHEDDAR’s research. It will be expected that the candidate will have a PhD in Software Engineering, Formal Methods or related field that demonstrates knowledge of the spectrum of the subject from theory to practical implementation, and with a particular focus on specification and verification in communications (ideally 6G). Familiarity with existing methods for formal specification repair, e.g., learning-based methods and SAT-based methods, is highly desirable. You will be joining a world-leading team. Essential requirements At Research Associate level you must have a PhD (or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Formal Methods or related field that demonstrates knowledge of the spectrum of the subject from theory to practical implementation, and with a particular 6G focus. You will be required to demonstrate experience in, and understanding of: Requirements specification and verification of communications systems. Understanding of: signal processing algorithms, adaptive systems formal methods Experience with publicity, scientific writing for general audiences. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to organise your work with minimal supervision and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
