This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Research Computing Engineer – Devices Software/Hardware with experience in digital/smart medical device software and hardware interfacing and computational modelling. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled person with a good Honours degree in Computer Science, Physics, Maths or Engineering (or equivalent) to join the new EPSRC South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub, based in the Section of Medical Imaging & Technology, which sits within the Division of Clinical Medicine in the Faculty of Health. The South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub will drive the development of innovative digital technologies to improve the way diseases are treated and diagnosed by using cutting-edge research using data from smartphones, wearables, new sensors, combining this with NHS data and using artificial intelligence to develop new clinical tools. This diverse new role will establish an underpinning infrastructure of computational, software engineering, device manufacturing, analytic and other technical expertise that supports all Hub projects, training resources and events. We are looking for an experienced individual to join the newly formed team at the start of our journey. We aim to bring together and grow our Digital Health Community of Practice of healthcare providers, engineers, scientists, clinicians, patient/public groups, and industrial partners to develop Digital Health solutions that address unmet clinical needs.
