Job description

We have an exciting opportunity across two successful Engineering departments for a person with a high level of attention to detail, a proven ability to problem solve and think outside the box and a succinct communicator. Working closely with the Research Manager, and other colleagues within the Departments of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering and Computer Science, and across the Faculty of Engineering, you will provide a professional support service for all aspects of post-award research activities in both departments. You will also support and provide guidance to a team of administrative staff with the departmental Research Office’s. You will manage the day-to-day running of post-award activities and the team and ensure a comprehensive support network across the department. You will have an oversight of all externally (and internally) funded research projects. You will be educated to A level (or have equivalent experience), have a good working knowledge on funding rules and financial regulations, and have the ability to manage the resources of these projects. You will have excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills, and being able to cope with conflicting demands and extra-ordinary requests.
