Green Fuels Research (GFR) Ltd is a research-orientated business focused on the development of advanced biofuels from low-cost bio-renewable feedstocks. GFR was founded in 2013 as an innovation company to carry out translational research in renewable fuels and bioenergy. GFR is a sister company to Green Fuels Ltd, which has over 20 years of experience in the manufacture and supply of biodiesel processing equipment. Green Fuels Ltd has supplied to customers in over 50 countries and holds a Royal Warrant to formerly HRH The Prince Charles Prince of Wales. The facilities include analytical equipment such as GC-MS, HPLC, auto-titrators, lab- and pilot-scale hydro processing installations and high-pressure batch reactors (0.3-15 L) for chemical conversion of waste biomass into biofuels (biodiesel, advanced fuels, biocrude, etc). GFR is conducting research in several important areas, including sustainable aviation and marine fuels, processing of agricultural wastes, novel agronomy systems and improved catalysis. The Role
The Research Laboratory Technician will have a lab-based role that’s based at our facility in Berkeley, where they will provide critical support to the research activities being undertaken. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of the research laboratories and will be required to design and implement systems which ensure that excellent housekeeping standards are maintained. The individual will be responsible for organizing and cleaning the laboratories, maintaining equipment (and associated records), ensure that stocks of important laboratory consumables are maintained and that the required safety documentation (e.g. risk assessment and safe-operating procedures) is up to date. Where appropriate, the candidate can expect to undergo training to aid personal development.
Qualifications:
Ideally, the candidate will have a degree in higher education in a relevant scientific discipline (chemistry, biology, physics, geology, engineering etc). Candidates without a relevant scientific degree may also be considered, if they possess extensive relevant work experience.
