Job description
Contract type: Open Location: New Spring House, Glossop Road, Sheffield, S10 2GW and The Wave, 2 Whitham Road, Sheffield, S10 2AH) Are you interested in supporting the growth of world-leading and world-changing research at the University of Sheffield? We have an exciting opportunity in Research Partnerships and Innovation (RPI) for a highly motivated individual who thrives in a varied and collaborative working environment. This is an exciting time to join the department in what is a newly created role. The University has ambitious targets for research income to support its strategy for excellent research. A key part of this strategy is to ensure that we can support the growing number of funding opportunities that require an interdisciplinary approach, which oftens involves working across different areas of the University. This role has been created specifically to make a significant contribution to this. You will work principally on key priorities for the Faculty of Social Sciences, particularly those related to research funding. However, the nature of many of these priorities means that you will work with colleagues from different disciplines, Faculties and other professional service departments, at times, bringing teams together to work on specific opportunities. You will be part of the Research Growth team in RPI, but also have close ties to the Faculty-based support team, who provide core support for a number of research activities, including funding applications. You should be a strong communicator who would enjoy a collaborative role, and be comfortable working in an environment that is responsive to change. If you are passionate about making things happen, then we would love to hear from you. We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and the University. We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development. We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
