Research Project Assistant

We are looking for a flexible and organised person to support a clinical study looking at learning in neurofibromatosis type-1 and Noonan syndrome using neuroimaging. It is part of work programme 2a of the Childrens and Young Peoples (CYP) Theme of the Mental Health Mission, but is in collaboration with the Mental Health theme of the Manchester BRC. This work programme as a whole looks at risk markers and surrogate endpoints for neurodevelopmental disorders in children. The work programme, and the studies within it, are led by Dr Shruti Garg. The post holder will work closely with the existing study team, providing administrative support.

The Mental Health Mission will allow to researchers test and trial cutting-edge interventions for patients with mental health conditions. The role involves working alongside clinical and academic researchers within the University of Manchester, other Universities and the NHS, as well as working directly with study participants and their families.
Main duties include assisting in the running of the ongoing study by supporting participant recruitment and retention; organising study visits; data collection and data entry; ensuing efficient communication across the wider team.
Essential attributes of the candidate should include relevant experience of clinical study administration; computer literacy; experience of handling and collating data; effective time management skills; highly organised with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
