Job description

The School of Pharmacy at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Technician.

The postholder will be an active member within the Ocular Drug Delivery research group in the School of Pharmacy (SoP), Queen’s University Belfast. The Research Technician will play a key role in delivering effective and efficient technical services for a research project focused on the development, characterization, and quality control of long-acting Drug Delivery systems. This project is funded by the School of Pharmacy's spinout company, Re-Vana Therapeutics, a preclinical stage company dedicated to pioneering innovative long-acting Drug Delivery systems.

This is a fixed term post available until 31/12/2024. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Academic and/or vocational qualifications i.e., 2 A Levels, OND/ONC, City & Guilds and/or NVQ level 3 in relevant subject (or equivalent).
  • At least two years’ experience of working in a laboratory.
  • Recent and relevant experience in long-acting formulations, HPLC, Bioactivity and Endotoxin assays.
