Job description

This is a full time contract for 12 months covering maternity leave. You will work 37 hours, 5 days out of 7, usually Monday to Friday. Oxford Brookes University is recruiting for an exceptional Residences Manager to join the Residences team. Working together with the management team, you will provide a high quality service and operational support to our students and conference guests. Working closely with our health and safety team to ensure compliance standards are met and maintained. You will support our Residence Life team in providing a well rounded and enjoyable student experience. Interviews are scheduled to be held week commencing 15th & 16th February 2024, proof of eligibility to work in the UK will be required prior to interview. As Residences Manager, your will role would include responsibility for: to provide effective operational management for Halls of Residence to provide effective leadership and operational direction for a team of staff to be responsible for all aspects of budget management of allocated cost codes to be responsible for ensuring all services provided by the residence team are of the highest standards. You will have the experience of:  working in a hospitality related business in a management or office based capacity managing Health and Safety compliance experience and high level of competency in a range of IT systems including database computer systems motivating a large team of staff Key skills: excellent organisational skills, ability to multitask, undertaking several ventures at the same time ability to manage complex and sensitive situations genuine interest in the welfare and experience of students and conference guests the ability to build effective relationships with other departments in the organisation This role will generally run Monday to Friday but there may be occasional evening and weekend working for events, Student Welcome Weekend and Applicant/Open days.
