Salary: £29,269 - £31,364 per annum + Enhancements + Sleeping in Allowance
Marland Residential form’s part of Marland School, a multi-site Special School for children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH). The Residential site provides high quality care and support for young males aged between 8-16 with SEMH and complex needs. We pride ourselves on working with families and carers to ensure the best outcomes for our young people and are located just outside of Torrington in the small hamlet of Peters Marland.
We currently have a vacancy for a Residential Support Worker. This position is full time, weekdays, term time only (1700 hours per annum) and has additional enhancements and sleep ins paid. As a Residential Support Worker you will join a strong team of Residential Support Workers. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build positive relationships with students, their families, and key professionals. You will be able to engage small groups of children in positive activities and play and meet the individual needs of the students across a 24-hour curriculum. There will always be Senior Residential Support Workers and a Care manager on duty when you work. You must have the ability to support young people with complex needs, be resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations. You will have a genuine desire to work with young people and the ability to provide social and emotional support for them to overcome barriers and succeed. The school puts the students in our care at the centre of our practice. The school is proud of its relational practice and thrive ethos.
You will need to demonstrate experience in working under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging behaviour and have knowledge of supporting young people with complex needs and SEMH. Marland Residential are proud to have been graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted since 2022, this requires a high standard of consistency and professionalism from all team members at all times. A relevant level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards one is a requirement of this position.
