SportFit is looking for caring children's Residential Support Workers to join the team at our new 3-4 bed children's home in New Milton.
The role
You'll be committed to providing our young people with a safe, supportive and nurturing environment and being a consistent role model in their lives.
As Residential Support Worker you'll be:
- Caring and compassionate
- Bringing fun and laughter into the home
- There to support children through the good times and the tough times
- Helping children feel good about themselves and encourage them to try new things
- Listening when children want to talk
- Celebrating their achievements
- Supporting young people towards independent living
- Assisting in developing their self-belief and coping skills
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and family members in meeting children's needs
- Supporting and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of all aspects in the home including cooking, cleaning and finances
- Ensuring that the needs of the young people are being met and review and record any changes to those needs
The ideal candidate
You'll have:
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification is desirable; however training will be available
- Experience of supporting vulnerable young people within a residential care environment, or similar youth worker experience
- You will be compassionate, resilient, committed to being a positive role model and confident in managing challenging behaviours
- Flexible and able to work a residential care rota which includes evening, weekends and holiday periods and sleep ins
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
