Residential Support Worker

Prospero Health and Social Care are supporting a company based in Park Gate who are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children affected by trauma, neglect, physical and emotional abuse, as well as those with learning disabilities. Their 5-bedded home, located in a detached property, offers en-suite bedrooms and ample outdoor space for recreational activities. Across the organisation, they are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the children in their care, helping them grow, develop, and thrive. This role is in Park Gate, with the location commutable from Fareham, Gosport, Southampton, Portsmouth and the surrounding towns and villages.

They are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join the team. As a Residential Support Worker, you will be an essential part of our mission to provide a safe and supportive environment for children facing various challenges in life. You will play a crucial role in their development and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to children in the home.
• Implement individualised care plans and therapeutic interventions.
• Foster a positive and nurturing environment.
• Engage children in recreational and educational activities.
• Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation and bedtime routines.
• Support children in developing essential life skills.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with the team and external professionals.
• Effectively manage challenging behaviour

Qualifications:

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (desired)
• Previous experience in a residential childcare setting is preferred but not required.
• Compassionate and patient with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation:

• Starting wage: £11.20 per hour.
• £40 per sleep-in completed with between 4 and 5 sleeps per month.
