Salary: £24,780 - £26,650 + Excellent Benefits

Full-Time, Permanent, 52 week per year

The Client:

A reputable educational firm, our client provides education for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities within the autistic spectrum continuum.

The Role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing support to the residential home during out-of-school hours.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with colleagues and professionals for child support.
- Prioritise health, well-being, and safety of children within the home.
- Enable effective communication between child / young person and parents / carers.
- Facilitate the contribution of each child / young person to household routines.
- Develop and update individual plans and support plans in collaboration with colleagues.
- Maintain compassionate and detailed records related to children/young people.
- Keep the young person at the centre during keyworker sessions and meetings.
- Carry out sleeping-in duties when required.
- Report concerns regarding safeguarding and child protection promptly to the Head of Residential Services or their deputy.
- Support young peoples learning and personal development.
- Advocate for their needs in schooling, healthcare, relationships, and social life.
- Work with all young people in the residential home.

Requirements:

- Experience working with children and young people or adults with additional educational needs.
- Ideally possess Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or must attain within 2 years of starting employment.
- Background in working with students with diagnosed difficulties (SALT, ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, etc.) (Desirable)
- Understanding of the Quality Standards. (Desirable)
