We have a great opportunity to join our team as a Residential Support Worker Nights.
April Court is a 17 bedroomed residential home that provides care and support for people with learning disabilities. It is situated in the Kinson area which is around 5 miles away from Bournemouth town centre. The team at April Court are proactive in ensuring the residents are supported to maintain their individuality.
You should have the skills and qualities that ensure the residents can play a part in their local community and engage with the community in a positive and fun packed way, supporting each individual to have a great quality, fulfilled life meeting their aspirations and enable them to reach their outcomes and supporting individuals to make choices and to communicate effectively through a total communication approach.
Working within the Gold Standards Framework you will ensure quality care, collaboration with others and maintain a professional approach to your role at all times.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing a waking night service which ensures residents’ safety and well-being needs are met.
- Undertaking personal care duties as required including manual handling.
- Working to required standards to comply with CQC guidelines.
- Maintaining dignity, privacy and respect for our clients.
- The ability to work flexibly including alternate weekends and bank holidays.
The successful candidate should have:
- The ability to follow care plans and instructions
- Awareness and understanding of relevant Care and Safeguarding legislation.
- A working knowledge of CQC standards and the single assessment framework.
- A good level of communication and an understanding of the communication methods that individuals may use.
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 Certificate or above or be prepared to work towards a qualification.
Part-time – 35 hours per week
