We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Responsive Repairs Supervisor on a permanent contract. The position is due to start pending candidate notice period. The salary is £38,442.10 per annum plus a company vehicle and tools.
The ideal candidate will have proven supervisory and team leader experience as well as practical and proven working experience of multi trades, although a background within Social Housing is not essential, it is desirable.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Directly line manage a team of trade operatives (10-15) and two Repairs Schedulers
Holding responsibility for supervising the team and other staff to provide an outstanding service to customers
Covering an Out of Hours Service as and when required
Directly supervising and organising operatives carrying out repairs in order to ensure work is completed to a good standard and within customer satisfaction
Undertaking correct diagnosis and method of responsive maintenance
Ensuring staff are recruited, trained, managed, appraised and developed to maximise their full potential
Completing disciplinary investigations when required
Preparing statistics for repairs managers, keeping them appraised of performance
Attending, presenting and delivering Toolbox Talks as and when required, as well as contributing to the planning and delivery of training within the organisation
Ensuring performance and quality targets are met
Contributing to the financial viability of the Responsive Repairs service by ensuring all work is correctly records and SMV codes are accurately recorded
Undertaking inspections and internal audits of works completed by the team
Experience required:
Completion of multi skilled in house training with either an additional nationally recognised trade qualification or an approved certificated qualification
Proven supervisory and team leader experience
Practical and proven working experience of multi trades
Working knowledge of current building regulations, construction industry safety regulations, relevant British standards and codes of practice
Mentoring trainees and apprentices
Diagnosing and prioritising specific work activities and tasks
