The Newt in Somerset is looking for a charismatic host to joined our Botanical Rooms Restaurant team

Your role

As Host you will ensure smooth and efficient running of service across the Botanical Rooms and department. You will be confident, self-motivated, lead from the front and passionate about hospitality. Your prime focus will be on guest's experience - meeting, greeting and seating the guest, whilst supporting your managers to deliver exceptional service. You will be placed within a team of 20 staff and happy to enthuse, coach and support waiters. Creating and ensuring a close working relationship with your team is key, as department fluidity is essential for our business.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the Botanical Rooms restaurant is impeccably set according to the reservations and that service throughout is faultless.
• Ensure the guest has the best possible experience, enthusing your team to prevail.
• Support staff training, development and motivation.
• Meet, greet and seat our guests with warmth and professionalism, whilst building rapport and guest profile.
• Managing cross charging between rooms, tracking our guests' journey.
• Ensure your team and their menu knowledge is current and correct, installing confidence in theirs and your delivery.
• Liaise with Restaurant Manager and team leaders to ensure private dining and special events are executed well throughout the department.
• Ensure breakfast, lunch and evening shifts run efficiently and smoothly.
• Maintain company representation, ensuring you and your team always look impeccable.
• Ensure The Newt's style of service and ethos is always upheld.
