Adecco Recruitment are seeking a Retail HR Manager. This is a Permanent role paying £38-£42K. Plus benefits.
This is a standalone HR Officer position where you will implement sound HR practices and processes, in liaison with professional 24/7 advice from Peninsula HR. This role is a HR generalist position supporting the managers and employees in all aspects of the people strategy. You will take ownership of recruitment, onboarding, personnel files, and payroll for new and existing stores. You will also be leading on culture, staff incentives and engagement, and will aim to improve all areas of the employee cycle.
The HR Officer will also take ownership of the overall Health & Safety practices in liaison with 24/7 professional advice from Peninsula H&S, using the online Brightsafe portal as our H&S communication and records tool.
This role is based on our Newbury Support Office so you will need to live within a realistic commutable distance.
You will need sound HR experience and knowledge to ensure best practice is in place across a range of HR areas.

Recruitment & Induction
To take ownership of the recruitment process for a pipeline of new stores, including writing job descriptions and preparing interview question guides.Organising and conducting interviewsFull ownership of the onboarding systems for new staffPrepare a new starter induction programme to welcome and engage new staff to the Company.
Ensuring candidates receive updates and decisions regarding their applications where relevant.Liaising with recruitment agencies to seek additional support in filling vacancies.Liaising with candidates and recruitment agencies when offering positions, ensuring that all approvals are in place before an offer is made and that all offer letters are consistent with company terms and conditions.
Health & Safety
In conjunction with Peninsula Health & Safety, you will be responsible for ensuring that all H&S protocols and new stores are set up with Peninsula.Conducting and delivering sign off on Health & Safety Induction training for all new staff, and ongoing Health & Safety training for stores.
Payroll
Ensure all new starters are correctly set up on payroll and that all information required has been delivered.
General HR
Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on all aspects of HR case work activity (disciplinary, grievance, sickness management, performance management, redundancy)In conjunction with Peninsula HR, ensure advice adheres to relevant employment law, and work with Peninsula on integrating and communicating upcoming changes in employment law.Attend disciplinary and grievance meetings where required, taking notes and issuing outcome letters.Review and update our Employee Handbook in partnership with Peninsula HR to ensure all policies are up to date.Plan and implement staff incentive schemes.
A successful candidate should have:
Minimum 2 year's experience in a similar role (preferably a retail background and experience in a fast-growing company).Strong experience in recruitment and developing/delivering a successful onboarding programme.Experience in leading on the people strategy and culture within a growing company.Have a relevant HR qualification (CIPD Level required - minimum Level 3).Be able to motivate and engage staff and be flexible in your approach to work.Be confident dealing with all HR and H&S issues.Be a team player and willing to assist colleagues and the business where needed.Be willing and able to travel occasionally.Please contact Katie on or call Tel (phone number removed)
