Retail Team Member

Summary

With your love of working with people and desire to provide a great service, you’ll welcome visitors to the shop, answering any questions they have.

Salary: £11.50 per hour. This is our anticipated salary from 1st April but is subject to final confirmation following the Trust’s annual pay review process.

Contract/duration: This role is offered on a fixed term basis until 27th October 2024

Hours/working pattern: This role is offered as a zero hours contract. The number of hours/days per week will vary. Typical shifts are 10am-5:45pm, shorter shifts may be available. Weekend and bank holiday work required. Some evening work in October.

Start Date: ideally mid-late April

Interview Date: Tuesday 2nd April

What it's like to work here

Fountains Abbey shop is an important part of the visitor experience, you’ll develop your knowledge of the site as well as learn about retail at the National Trust. The shop is a busy and varied environment stocking a range of products across multiple departments, including locally sourced and plants. You’ll join a team of hard-working, outgoing, and friendly staff and volunteers. This role reports to the Retail Manager.

What you'll be doing

As a Retail Team Member you’ll offer our visitors help and shopping advice, working as a team to deliver great service. Other duties may include receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating and maintaining displays both inside and outside, watering/looking after our plants and keeping the shop floor and our storage facilities clean and organised. This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service and an interest in learning about retail.
