Reviving Exmoor’s Heartlands is a Landscape Recovery project led by a partnership of Exmoor National Park Authority, local farmers and land managers. Combining farming, nature recovery, climate adaptation and resilience and public enjoyment, the project aims to ensure a long-term future for the iconic central moorlands of Exmoor.

We are now looking for a Project Manager to join us on a full-time basis for a fixed-term contract until the 31st March 2026, working 37 hours per week.

The Benefits

  • 30 days’ holiday per annum, plus Bank Holidays
  • Paid sickness leave
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Flexible working options

This is an incredible opportunity for a Project Manager with experience delivering conservation projects and a strong grasp of nature recovery and land management to grow and develop with our organisation.

You’ll have the chance to lead a pioneering project to secure the future of Exmoor's iconic central moorlands, all whilst surrounded by stunning landscapes. Not only this, but you’ll enjoy hybrid working options and a fantastic array of benefits.

So, if you want to help us conserve and enhance the unique landscape of Exmoor National Park, read on and apply today!

The Role

Funded by the Landscape Recovery Scheme, the Project Manager will lead the delivery of the Reviving Exmoor’s Heartlands project in partnership with local farmers and land managers.

These will include the Land Management Plan, Blended Finance Plan, Governance Plan, Monitoring and Evaluation Plan, Site Access Plan and Stakeholder Engagement Plan.

You’ll provide expert advice and guidance, ensuring the project Steering Group is supported to make key project decisions and engaging with the Natural England Project Liaison Officer to ensure the project progresses in line with expectations.

Additionally, you will:

  • Oversee contractors
  • Engage with statutory stakeholder organisations to secure necessary legal consent
  • Manage the Landscape Recovery budget and project expenditure

About You

To be considered as a Project Manager, you will need:

  • Experience of managing finances
  • Experience of supervising contractors
  • Knowledge of grant programmes, including agri-environment schemes and green finance opportunities
  • Knowledge and understanding of National Parks and farming
  • Knowledge of habitat restoration and nature recovery principles
  • Knowledge of climate change and opportunities for climate mitigation and adaptation through nature recovery and land management
  • A degree in a nature conservation or a land management-related discipline
  • A full, valid driving licence or the ability to travel across the national park
