We have several fantastic temporary positions available working with our client Buckinghamshire Council!Job Title - Reward & HR Policy ConsultantTemporary - 6 months temp to permLocation - Aylesbury basedWork Schedule - Mix of office and home workingHours: Monday to Friday - 37 hours per week, 9:00am to 5:30pmPay Rate - GBP23.77 per hour PAYEOverviewOn behalf of Buckinghamshire Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Reward & HR Policy Consultant to join the HR Consultancy, Reward & Policy team in Aylesbury. Working alongside the Head of HR Consultancy, Reward and Policy, you will play an important role in providing high level, professional, technical expertise in pay and reward, HR policy and job evaluation expertise in line with the reward framework, employment policies including terms and conditions of employment that meet the operational needs of the CouncilAbout the roleAs a Reward & HR Policy Consultant, you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
  • Identify, develop and implement improvements that align to the AURA principles, enhancing customer experience, automation and overall service delivery.
  • Research, develop and implement core reward systems, HR policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to developing Council strategy within pay and reward so that efficient, relevant systems, policies, and procedures are designed, developed, integrated, implemented, and maintained.
  • Manage the day to day pay and reward activity ensuring the Council has the information it requires to make business decisions.
  • Monitor external changes and developments in pay and reward, identify their potential impact and make recommendations.
  • Commission, research and evaluate complex pay and reward information / data / feedback.
  • Identify and interpret issues, trends and problems which may have a broad impact both within the organisation and for partner organisations.
  • Develop and maintain employment policies, in conjunction with the HR Policy Consultant.
  • Manage operational Reward and cyclical activities, including annual pay review processes, reporting including gender pay gap reporting, market benchmarking of roles etc.
  • Horizon scanning for future changes in legislation and reward development to ensure the Council is legally compliant and operating best practice in employee reward.
  • Identify areas of organisational risk in relation to pay and reward e.g. equal pay, and recommend procedures to address these.
This is a temp to perm position initially for six months, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is GBP23.77 per hour, and you will be working full time, 37 hours per week. Buckinghamshire Council are working on a hybrid basis where you will work remotely for 3-4 days per week and in the office 1-2 days per week.The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP20 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40.About youThe successful candidate(s) should have:
  • Extensive Reward & Policy experience
  • Numerical, mathematic ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and organise varied projects
  • Excellent excel skills a must
  • Working to meet tight deadlines is essential
  • Local Authority experience is desired but not essential
