RF Systems Engineer

Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an RF Systems Engineer to work with the Data Link Systems team. This team designs the communication system for a missile product to complete its mission. The Sea Venom program needs an RF Systems Engineer to support the Stat Link systems team.

Sea Venom is an anti-corvette/FIAC weapon system that is launched from a helicopter. It is a joint development of both the UK and France and will be fitted on the Wildcat Helicopter for the UK and the French Guepard helicopter as well.

What we're looking for:

• RF Systems Engineering
• Testing of RF Systems with formal recording of results.
• Creation of certification documentation
• Have good interaction skills - verbal communication, listening and time management.
• Proficiency in the use of MATLAB beneficial

What you'll get to do as a RF Systems Engineer:

Data Analysis & Verification

• Perform ad-hoc tests to support the generation of evidence
• Analyse test logs, summarise and document to support verification activities
• Check verification evidence to enable acceptance
• Work non-compliance and sign off to support Certificate of Design deliveries
• Conducted tests, recorded results, and raised non-conformances and queries.
• Produce the design certification documentation to support delivery of the products into service.

Sea Venom's data link allows for a secure two-way RF link to up to four missiles in flight, which enables image downlinks, aim point refinement, abort commands, and target location updates. The data link comprises of:

• Missile Terminal and antenna
• Platform (Helicopter) Terminal with an active antenna enabling 360deg (in azimuth) beam pointing capability.

Sea Venom's data link product is scheduled for delivery in Q2 2024, with support services continuing into 2024. Rate manufacturing is expected to occur in Q4 2024.
