Job description


We are a small admin team based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, who work hard to ensure that the department delivers the most efficient and effective service to support patients that are referred into the Rheumatology Department. We work closely with the Rheumatology Nursing team based at Clifton Hospital to provide a high quality service for patients to provide appropriate treatment.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a typist/general administration assistant to join the Rheumatology team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. The post holder will primarily provide comprehensive audiotyping support to the department however dependant on the needs of the service, this could also include organising patient case notes returning from clinics, collecting case notes from around the BTH site as required, actioning post and results, filing and other general administrative tasks to support the associated medical teams.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who has excellent typing skills, knowledge of medical terminology, who is self-motivated and capable of using own initiative, comfortable with stand-alone working and has the ability to work accurately whilst meeting deadlines on a daily basis with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the medical teams.
Previous knowledge of hospital systems including HISS, Nexus and G2 speech would be an advantage.
Working Hours:
37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

The post holder will primarily provide comprehensive audiotyping support to the department however dependant on the needs of the service, this could also include;
• Audiotyping.
• Organising patient case notes returning from clinics.
• Collecting case notes from around the BTH site as required.
• Actioning post and results.
• Filing.
• Other general administrative tasks to support the associated medical teams and the needs of the service.
• Manage own time effectively and exercise judgement as necessary.
