Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for anInternal Auditor to join our Risk & Compliance team due to recent internal promotion and team growth. In this role, you will work closely with a number of key stakeholders such as standards Partners/representatives, our Compliance Officer for Legal Practice ("COLP"), Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration ("COFA") and the wider team to provide an audit function within the firm's compliance programme.

This role is key to our audit strategy, following a regular audit programme and providing for ad-hoc audits in response to risk assessments. You will be auditing for compliance with the firm's procedures and policies, including those relating to anti-money laundering and the SRA Code of Conduct.

We are looking for someone with a proactive and highly collaborative approach to develop strong relationships within the wider firm with experience to undertake all aspects of the audit plan including:

  • Carrying out firm-wide file reviews
  • Auditing for compliance with ISO standards and equivalent, with the support of external suppliers.
  • Auditing for compliance with the requirements of the SRA and other legislative requirements
  • Analysing the results of those reviews and presenting recommendation for improvement.
  • Conducting tests of control systems and core risk management processes
  • Monitoring risks, identifying theme based issues requiring risk management attention and developing a heightened auditing regime to monitor these issues.
