An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rota Care Coordinator to join the busy team at our Abicare Pontypool branch.
You will be responsible for developing and building a profitable business by securing strong relationships with LA’s, Social Services, Brokerage, LHB’s and local community groups. You will maintain a “can do” attitude to forge these relationships by scheduling and organising all rotas for our team of care workers, optimising capacity and continuity of care. You will ensure all care packages are sufficiently staffed at all times to guarantee the smooth running of the service.
You will be required to produce the carers’ rota in a timely and accurate manner by using the company’s rostering software in use at the time. This will allow the carers to deliver the right care and support to the client at the correct time.

Mon-Fri, 9 am - 5 pm full-time position

- Carer working hours/availability
- Carer’s personal details to assist with match and suitability for planning on the scheduled rota with clients
- Client information – ensuring that all the clients’ details are correct. Check that each client is set up with the correct Funder and Contract. Liaise with local authorities to confirm that clients are funded by them on a regular basis
Rota
- Plan the care rota two weeks in advance and confirm the rota with the carers
- Ensure any changes (absence, sickness, and holidays), are covered and changed on the computerised rota
- Clients need to be informed of any changes to their ‘normal carer’ – this will involve a phone call to the client if the rotas have already been sent to the client
Growth
- Assist the Development Team to identify new areas of growth. Accepting, allocating and processing new care packages on the computerised rota system
- Assisting the business to pre-empt recruitment needs and liaising with head office recruitment and the Registered Manager
- Produce reports for internal or external purposes
Support & Communication
- Answering all phone calls promptly and professionally and directing them to the appropriate person
Integration with 3rd Party Systems
- Check that all data is replicated in any other systems to ensure accuracy
Adhere to all requirements set by Abicare Services Ltd standards
- The standard of care expected at Abicare is documented in the company's standards, which can be found in every office and on the intranet. You will be expected to adhere to all of these standards whilst working for the company
You will have:
- Previous knowledge of rostering and IT systems
- Previous understanding of the social care sector/SCW
- Excellent administrative, organisational and IT skills
- The ability to work alone and as part of a larger team
- Professional and welcoming telephone manner
- Possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
