Safeguarding Advisory Board Member

Would you relish joining the Advisory Board of one of Britain's oldest performing arts training institutions?

Over the past 2 years we have established an Advisory Board with experienced leaders who play an instrumental role in guiding our strategy, acting as advisors to the Senior Leadership Team and our Board of Directors. Members of our Advisory Board love the performing arts and take a proactive interest in the work and life of Italia Conti.

We have young people on our courses between the ages of 16 and 18, in addition to children who train with our Associate Schools across the country, and consequently we are seeking an Advisory Board member specifically to act in an advisory capacity in safeguarding, supporting our dedicated team of 5 established staff who make up our Safeguarding & Wellbeing Team.

There could hardly be a more inspiring time to be involved with Italia Conti. In September 2022 we moved into a brand new, purpose-built campus a few minutes' walk from Woking Station. The excitement is palpable as we build on our past successes and chart a new course for the future. This past September we launched our first ever Masters-level programme in The Spoken Voice and our first degree exclusively in Dance, and we have bold aspirations for the future. Diversity and inclusion is high on our agenda, and we are keen to receive applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds.

Our Advisory Board meets three times annually, usually via Microsoft Teams, with one in-person meeting per year. Outside of these we would look to you to lead a sub-committee in safeguarding and to be involved with the work of our Safeguarding & Wellbeing Team and all the activity that goes on in this pivotal area of our work and the support we have in place for our students.

The selection process will involve two interviews with existing members of the Advisory Board, the Board of Directors, and the Senior Leadership Team.
