Safeguarding Social Worker

Are you an experienced Social Worker, or interested in the opportunity to progress, with a background in Adult Social Care Safeguarding.
An opportunity has arisen for two permanent full time Social Worker roles in our Adult Social Care Safeguarding Team. The successful candidates will be based at Sand Martin House in Peterborough, although some flexible working/working from home will continue to be an option.
Adult Safeguarding is Protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. It is about people and organisations working together to prevent and stop both the risks and experience of abuse or neglect, while at the same time making sure that the adult’s wellbeing is promoted including, where appropriate, having regard to their views, wishes, feelings and beliefs in deciding on any action.
We are a team made up of 1 Team Manager, 1 Senior Social Worker, 4 Social Worker and 1 Safeguarding Co-Ordinator. We offer safeguarding support to people over the age of 18 with physical and learning disabilities and older people. The team conduct initial section 42 safeguarding enquiries to determine the level of risk and ensure an outcome focused approach and respond to service users’ needs promptly within statutory guidelines. We collaborate with colleagues from health, police, housing and other relevant services to address safeguarding issues effectively.
Applicants would need to hold a current Social Work qualification and registered with Social Work England. Experience of working with adults is essential along with a good understanding of Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and be able to professionally utilise a Strengths Based Approach and be able to make risk assessed decisions to promote the safety of others.
The successful candidates will need to be able to travel independently between locations if required by the Team Manager.
