SalaryOur client, a large government customer, are seeking a Safety and Environmental Engineer to join their team. The role is based in Bristol and is mostly remote based, with occasional site visits. The role requires SC clearance.
Requirements are scheduled to run until 31/03/2025 and offer a rate up to £530/day.
IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

The Role
The delivery team are currently working through a Return to Green (RTG) plan for the safety management position across its portfolio of products. This has been caused by several Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECR) falling out of review within their defined review period and 2nd party assurance lapsing due to the lack of in date SECRs to review. This role is to support the RTG plan by reviewing and updating SECRs as required across the delivery team.
Main Responsibilities
- Review and update of Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECR) for various products within the portfolio.
- Review and update of Hazard Logs.
- Supporting developing the certification plan and engaging with the Regulator.
- Support Project Safety and Environmental Panels and Safety Review Panel submissions to attain Assurance Statements.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experienced in Safety Management.
- Incorporated Engineer or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Risk Management experience.
- Awareness of Commercial and Project Management in Procurement.
Other Information
- The team adopt Smart working principles. The vast majority of this task can be completed WFH and there will only be occasional need to visit site.
Candidate Eligibility
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas cannot be accepted.
