Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Safety Manager to join their team. The role is based in Bristol. The role requires SC clearance and candidates must be a sole UK national.
Requirements are scheduled to run until 31/08/2024 and offer a rate up to £530/day
IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

The Role
To work within a multi-discipline Acquisition Safety and Environmental Protection (ASEP) team. Operating as an effective Safety Manager or providing support to safety and environmental protection activities (i.e. the implementation of POSMS, compliance with applicable regulation and standards, aspects of the management of in-service capability).
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver against the overarching programme and established safety management plan.
- Evolve and advise the safety programme to de-risk delivery and capitalise on opportunities.
- Work for assigned delivery teams to produce safety and environmental artefacts to time and quality requirements.
- Provide advice to ensure the programme will deliver artefacts to demonstrate that policy, legislation and regulation have been met and that assets are demonstrably safe.
- Required to represent the delivery team at required safety engagements and have the ability to brief up and down.
- The Safety Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activity, delivering against agreed activity and tasks.
- Act as a ‘controlling’ mind in advising Senior Safety accountable and responsible personnel on delivery of safety programmes and artefacts.
Experience Required
- Through Life Safety Management.
- Safety Management Systems.
- Safety Case Management and Reporting.
- Safety Legislation, Regulation, Conventions and policy.
- Hazard Log Management.
- Compliance Management.
- Experience required in delivering Maritime safety artefacts.
- Experience required in compiling safety case evidence, authoring safety case reports and hazard logs.
- A Safety Manager that is able to act as a ‘controlling’ mind in advising Senior Safety accountable and responsible personnel on delivery of safety programmes and artefacts.

Candidate Eligibility
