Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Assistant to join our team. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our sales team and ensuring the smooth operation of our sales processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and has a real thirst for sales.
Responsibilities:
- Generating Leads: Actively engaging with customers in the showroom in order to book them in for surveys and design appointments.
- Qualifying Prospects: Assessing potential customers to determine if they have a need for the product or service being offered and if they have the authority and budget to make a purchase.
- Presenting Products or Services: Using knowledge to advise customers on products that best suit their needs and accurately selling our tried and tested service template,
- Handling Objections: Addressing any concerns or objections that potential customers may have and providing information or solutions to alleviate their doubts. Dealing with potential issues/remedial work from previous installations.
- Negotiating and Closing Deals: Working with customers to reach mutually beneficial agreements on pricing, terms, and other aspects of the sale, and closing deals to secure orders.
- Building and Maintaining Relationships: Cultivating strong relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business, as well as seeking referrals for new customers.
- Providing Customer Support: Assisting customers with any questions or issues they may have after making a purchase, and ensuring their satisfaction with the product or service.
- Monitoring Market Trends: Staying informed about developments in the industry and the market, including competitor activities and customer preferences, to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Reporting and Analysis: Keeping detailed records of sales activities, such as calls, meetings, and deals closed, and analysing sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Staying up-to-date with product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry trends through training, workshops, and self-study to enhance sales effectiveness.
Experience:
- Product Knowledge: Understanding the various types of bathroom fixtures, fittings, materials, and accessories is definitely preferred. This includes knowledge of different brands, styles, and trends in the bathroom industry. If you are someone that is new to the industry but possess the right attitude and experience, extensive training will be provided.
- Sales Experience: Prior experience in sales, especially in a related field such as home improvement, interior design, or construction, can be highly beneficial. Sales skills such as prospecting, negotiation, closing deals, and relationship building are crucial.
- Customer Service Skills: This is essential for building rapport with clients, understanding their needs, and providing solutions that meet their requirements. Being able to effectively communicate and listen to customers' preferences is key.
- Technical Knowledge: While not absolutely essential, having some technical knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems (for lighting and fixtures), and construction basics can be advantageous.
- Design Aptitude: A basic understanding of interior design principles and trends.
- Project Management Skills: Managing bathroom renovation projects often involves coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and clients. Experience or skills in project management would be valuable for ensuring smooth project execution and timely completion.
- Networking Skills: Building and maintaining a network of contacts within the home improvement industry and throughout all trades is essential to consistent business within this sector. Experience in building and maintaining valuable connections with repeat customers is essential.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer literacy is essential but a benefit would be previous experience in using either the EQ or TruBlue software would be desired.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Experience in troubleshooting issues, addressing customer concerns, and finding creative solutions to challenges that arise during the sales process or project implementation is crucial.
- Continuous Learning: The bathroom industry is constantly evolving with new products, technologies, and design trends. Being an individual that can show excellent self learning and a continual thirst for development is essential.
