The Local CorporateSales Executive role is responsible for developing the Local Corporate conference, meetings and banqueting business, through research and effectively handling incoming enquiries, bringing these to conclusion and pro-actively initiating new corporate business leads through networking, cold calling and attending industry events.
Main Responsibilities:
- Proactively research, identify and develop qualified leads (by phone and email) for small meetings, conferences and banqueting from the Local Corporate market.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and new local and Scottish corporate clients to bring new business to P&J Live.
- Produce fully costed proposals and bid documents for small meetings, conferences and banquets, progressing to client meeting/site visit and eventually contractual stage. Monitor the progress of sales enquiries and chase contracts to conclusion, ensuring that sales procedures are adhered to.
- Develop and secure contracted business in line with the agreed overall sales team budget and target
- Attend to all in-bound enquires promptly (by phone, email and website).
- Identify and promote upsell opportunity to clients for small meetings and conferences, with regards to AVIT, food and beverage, production and exhibition facilities.
- Prepare banqueting proposals, in line with client requirements, sell themed events, upsell production and increase revenue opportunities.
- Work with the wider sales and marketing team to develop promotional ideas and online content for engagement targeted at the Local Corporate sector. Creation of market-specific content to use in company newsletters, social platforms and on the P&J Live website, to further promote the business.
- Represent P&J Live at local and Scottish trade shows and events.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of local client events, working alongside sales and marketing colleagues.
- Ensure accurate records are kept within the venue’s CRM system, updating details for client and logging opportunities and enquiries.
- Conduct client show-rounds and site visits.
- Work closely with the venue operations team to ensure feedback is obtained from each client as part of the sales process, attending post event meetings with clients where possible.
- Fulfill all administrative tasks related to the sales process.
- Any other tasks directed by the Company.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Tourism/Event Management Qualification or equivalent
- Tourism and/or event industry knowledge
Skills:
- Sales and negotiation skills
- Initiative and enthusiasm
- Excellent communication and 'people skills'
- Good planning and organisational skills
- The ability to work calmly under pressure
- Good IT, presentation and proposal writing skills
Experience:
- Experience in a sales focused role, preferably in the business tourism/hospitality industry
- A good track record of achieving targets
